Ypsilanti, Michigan July, 2003 -- Tap Internet, a web services firm based in Ypsilanti, has recently been chosen by Tarrant County College to develop a distance learning portal.

The college's department of distance learning required a custom portal to centralize all aspects of the distance learning program. After reviewing several systems, the college selected Tap Internet to develop a system using its flagship LogiCreate application server.

The portal will serve as a focal point for all classes in the college, which currently serves over 8,000 students. Students can view lessons and homework, chat to each other with a secured messaging system, ask questions of faculty, andcheck upcoming assignment due dates. Faculty will be able to monitor all student progress, create new lessons and assignments, grade tests, post test results securely, and manage all other aspects.
